We are a new Brighton-based Independent publisher set up by local authors to create a place where the story can come first, regardless of genre or where it sits on the commercial/literary spectrum. Storyland Press understands that sometimes we want a strong genre-based novel or lighter read, and other times we want something that is harder to catagorise or more challenging - ultimately though, what we always want is a GOOD STORY!
Brighton Fringe Reading Event at Jubilee Library
We had a fantastic reading event as part of the Brighton Fringe Festival!
Despite the record-breaking temperatures we had a full house at Brighton's Jubilee Library for our Storyland Reading. Founding authors, Shani Struthers, V K McGivney and Corinna Edwards-Colledge all read from a range of their novels and there was a competition for the best opening line of a novel including the word 'library'!
We are holding two readings as part of libraries week in October. Come along and meet our founding authors, hear from some of their novels and novellas, and there will be our famous 'first line of a novel' competitions and special offers on our books:
- Patcham Library: 2.15pm Monday October 9th
- Hove Library: 5pm Wednesday October 11th
The Good Ship Storyland is well and truly launched!
A huge thank you to everyone who came along on our launch night and helped to make it such a great success! Well over 100 Brighton & Hove book lovers joined us for a drink, a bit of literary chat, competitions and signings and there was such a lovely atmosphere and a real buzz around about sharing great storytelling.
